"I hear everyone talking about how your life changes and the feeling you have when that baby comes out, but I didn't really buy into it until it really happened," Huff said. "It's a weird feeling -- ecstatic, overjoyed. It was probably the happiest moment of my life."
The timing was convenient. Huff was away from the team on Thursday and Sunday -- both off days -- and missed just two games. He said he would take home his first base glove for baseball-oriented baby photos.
Huff's sixth-inning grand slam was his 31st home run of the season and brought his RBI total to 102. He's three home runs and five RBI from matching his career highs in both categories.
"He's a different guy this year for a lot of reasons," manager Dave Trembley said. "If he continues for the next couple of weeks, he's going to have a career year. He's going to set numbers for himself he's never had before. He's been a legitimate No. 4 hitter for us once he got in that slot, and he's just been real good, especially with guys on base."
ORIOLES 14, INDIANS 3: The Orioles hit four home runs -- led by Aubrey Huff's grand slam -- to end an eight-game losing streak. Left-hander Garrett Olson allowed three runs in six innings, ending a streak of 16 straight outings by Orioles starters without a quality start.
