If Guthrie is cleared, he'd like to pitch Sunday's season finale. --CF Adam Jones batted third for the second consecutive game in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader. Manager Dave Trembley said Jones is on track to be a No. 5 or 6 hitter in his prime. Jones was given Tuesday's second game off.
--INF Oscar Salazar hit cleanup in Tuesday's second game, marking the first time he's done so in his major league career. Salazar played third base in a lineup that was devoid of regulars Nick Markakis, Melvin Mora, Aubrey Huff and Adam Jones.
--RHP Jim Miller was going to pitch in the second game Tuesday night, but he felt something in his side on a final warm-up pitch. Instead of Miller, the Orioles turned to LHP Jamie Walker, who allowed four runs without recording an out.
