--RF Nick Markakis left camp Thursday to be with his wife, Christina, who is expecting the newlyweds' first child. Markakis, 25, signed a six-year contract extension in January, and his absence will not be an issue.
--CF Adam Jones was scratched from the starting lineup Feb. 27 because of soreness in his right forearm. Jones was reportedly wearing an ice pack on his right shoulder after making a tumbling catch in the opening Grapefruit League game. The Orioles don't believe the injuries are serious. --OF Felix Pie finally made it to camp, albeit a week late. The former Cubs prospect had issues obtaining his visa, and his absence was beginning to harm his chances of making the Opening Day roster.
--RHP Brad Hennessey left his first appearance with the Orioles suffering from discomfort in his right elbow. After pitching the first inning as the starter in the Orioles' Grapefruit League opener, Hennessey left in the second inning and was examined by the Orioles' doctors. Results were not immediately available.
--C Matt Wieters will play twice every three days while in Fort Lauderdale, manager Dave Trembley revealed recently. The top prospect will catch one day, serve as the designated hitter the next, and rest on the third before repeating the routine.
