--3B Melvin Mora batted fourth Monday, flipping slots in the order with 1B Aubrey Huff. Manager Dave Trembley will bat the right-handed hitting Mora in the cleanup spot against tough lefties.
--RHP Dennis Sarfate was placed on the disabled list Sunday with lingering numbness in the middle finger on his pitching hand. Sarfate was unavailable Saturday, and has generally struggled, pitching to a 6.39 ERA in eight appearances, before he left Friday's game abruptly. --RHP Bob McCrory was recalled from Class AAA Norfolk to take RHP Dennis Sarfate's place on the active roster. He joins the club on his 27th birthday having converted nine saves with a 2.25 ERA in nine appearances with the Tides.
BY THE NUMBERS: 1,000 -- Games, through Saturday, that 2B Brian Roberts has played in a Baltimore Orioles uniform. Roberts became the 15th player in club history to reach the milestone.
