--RHP Jeremy Guthrie was strong in a loss Friday, allowing the only runs of his six-inning effort on an Alex Rodriguez first-inning homer. Guthrie scattered seven hits and two walks, while striking out three. --LHP Rich Hill will make his next rehab start Sunday with Class AAA Norfolk. Hill's goal is to reach 95 pitches with efficiency, at which point in time the Orioles would consider activating him. Baltimore manager Dave Trembley said Hill is "getting close."
BY THE NUMBERS: 1,000 -- Games, through May 2, that 2B Brian Roberts had played in a Baltimore Orioles uniform. Roberts became the 15th player in club history to reach the milestone.
