--SS Brandon Fahey was recalled from Class AAA Norfolk. The left-handed-batting former utility man likely will assume the starting shortstop role, with Alex Cintron serving as his backup. Fahey went 1-for-3 with an RBI Friday.
--INF Oscar Salazar was optioned to Class AAA Norfolk. The "professional hitter," as the Orioles brass referred to him, batted .235 (4-for-17) with two home runs and four RBIs in nine games after being recalled June 10.
--C Matt Wieters, the Orioles' top position prospect, reported to Class AA Bowie. The 2007 first round pick was a Carolina League All-Star at Class-A Frederick, where he hit .342 with 14 homers and 38 RBIs in 68 games.
