--LHP Adam Loewen scattered two hits and a walk in two innings of work out of the bullpen. In his first career relief appearance, Loewen picked up his first hold, striking out one on 25 pitches. Expect Loewen to pitch more as a middle reliever than as a fill-in left-handed specialist in place of injured LHP Jamie Walker.
--2B Brian Roberts hit a solo home run in the seventh inning to expand the Orioles' lead. It was Roberts' sixth home run of the season, and his second as a right-handed batter. Roberts also stole his 22nd base of the season. --C Ramon Hernandez drove in two runs on a 2-for-4 night. Both RBIs came on a two-out single to left field in the third inning, helping raise the backstop's average to .244.
--SS Alex Cintron was placed on the 15-day disabled list after he left Monday's game with a strained left hamstring. While Cintron is out, his starting job likely is in the hands of INF Brandon Fahey while management looks outside the organization for a better option.
--SS Freddie Bynum was recalled from Class AAA Norfolk to take SS Alex Cintron's place on the active roster. Bynum was designated for assignment June 22. To make room for Bynum on the 40-man roster, the Orioles moved RHP Danys Baez from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list.
