--RHP Jeremy Guthrie was scratched from Saturday's start Thursday night, and manager Dave Trembley is giving thought to shutting Guthrie down for the remainder of the season. Saturday's game will be the third straight start Guthrie has missed with a either a tired arm or the flu.
--RHP Radhames Liz will start Sunday's series finale against the Twins. Liz was moved up a day because Jeremy Guthrie was scratched from his Saturday start.
--2B Brian Roberts should be a good bet for at least two games this weekend. Roberts leads the American League with a .365 batting average during the day. For the season, he's hitting .293 with a league-best 47 doubles.
BY THE NUMBERS: 3 -- Doubles needed, as of last weekend, by Aubrey Huff and Brian Roberts to reach 50 for this season. It's also the number of Orioles who will reach that milestone should Nick Markakis hit seven more doubles.
