--CF Adam Jones was scratched from the lineup Tuesday because of a tight hamstring. Jones, who was slated to bat second, was replaced in the order by Lou Montanez, who played left field. Felix Pie slid from left to center after the rain subsided.

--OF Lou Montanez was recalled from Class AAA Norfolk and will be the Orioles' fourth outfielder while OF/INF Ryan Freel is on the 15-day disabled list. Montanez, who batted .429 in 10 games for the Tides, doubled home a run in the sixth on a 1-for-5 night as the left fielder.

--INF/OF Ryan Freel was placed on the 15-day disabled list because of a head injury. Freel was plunked by a Justin Masterson pickoff throw while diving back into second base Monday. He said Tuesday he felt no ill effects from the injury, and that his trip to the disabled list has to do with his history of concussions.

MEDICAL WATCH:

CF Adam Jones (right hamstring tightness) did not play April 20-21. He is day-to-day.

OF/INF Ryan Freel (head) went on the 15-day disabled list April 21 after being hit in the head by a pickoff throw the previous day.

RHP Alfredo Simon (sore right elbow) went on the 15-day disabled list April 15. He has a "degenerative issue," according to manager Dave Trembley, and he will be sidelined indefinitely.

3B Melvin Mora (left hamstring strain) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 13.

LHP Rich Hill (left elbow soreness) went on the 15-day disabled list March 29. He was pitching in extended spring training in mid-April.
