--INF/OF Ryan Freel, on the disabled list with a head injury after being struck by an errant pickoff throw, has had a delay in his rehab assignment to Class A Delmarva. Originally slated to start Wednesday, the rehab stint won't start until Friday as a precaution. Freel voiced concern over his role with the club Tuesday, saying: "I'm not very happy. I don't think I fit here."

--RF Nick Markakis extended his hitting streak to 15 games with a first-inning single. He scored on Melvin Mora's single and finished the game 2-for-5 with two runs and an outfield assist.

--RHP Matt Albers was sent down to Class AAA Norfolk to make room for 3B Melvin Mora on the active roster. It's the second trip to the Tides for Albers, who was 0-1 with a 7.78 ERA in eight appearances with the Orioles.

MEDICAL WATCH:

3B Melvin Mora (left hamstring strain) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 13. He was activated April 28.

OF/INF Ryan Freel (head) went on the 15-day disabled list April 21 after being hit in the head by a pickoff throw the previous day. He will start a rehab assignment with Class A Delmarva on May 1.

RHP Alfredo Simon (sore right elbow) went on the 15-day disabled list April 15. He will have season-ending Tommy John surgery in late April.

LHP Rich Hill (left elbow soreness) went on the 15-day disabled list March 29. He began a rehab assignment with Class A Frederick on April 24.
