--OF Adam Jones was not in the lineup Thursday after straining his right hamstring in Wednesday's loss to the Rays. Felix Pie, who has been day-to-day with food poisoning, replaced Jones in center field.
--SS Cesar Izturis batted second Thursday for the second time this season, taking injured Adam Jones' spot in the order. It paid off for the everyday No. 9 hitter. Izturis went 2-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs. --RHP Jim Hoey was placed on Class AA Bowie's disabled list Thursday with a sore right shoulder, according to MASNsports.com. Hoey, who made a meteoric rise through the farm system in 2006 after Tommy John surgery, has an 0-2 record with a 4.40 ERA in 10 games with Bowie.

OF Adam Jones (strained right hamstring) left the May 13 game, and he didn't play May 14.
DH Luke Scott (left rotator cuff sprain) left the May 10 game, and he didn't play May 12-14. He might return during the weekend series at Kansas City.
LHP Rich Hill (left elbow soreness) went on the 15-day disabled list March 29. He made the first of four minor league rehab starts on April 24, and he might be activated May 16.
RHP Dennis Sarfate (torn artery in right shoulder) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 2. He might be able to return around the All-Star break.
RHP Alfredo Simon (sore right elbow) went on the 15-day disabled list April 15. He had season-ending Tommy John surgery in early May.
