"I have to take today off, but after that I'll be ready to play. Today I feel much better," Pie said. "They determined the cause was something I ate. ... Yesterday, I was a little scared. That was the first time my stomach hurt like that."
Scott hasn't played since leaving Sunday's game after spraining his left shoulder diving back to first base. He hit off a tee before Wednesday's game, but there was enough pain that he didn't think he would be available.
"I took about 15 swings and it's still there a little bit. It's still sore, but it's nothing like it was," said Scott, who expects to be ready to play Thursday, when the Orioles begin a four-game series in Kansas City.
With Pie and Scott sidelined, Trembley's bench was reduced to catcher Gregg Zaun and backup infielder Roberto Andino.
Andino worked out with first base coach John Shelby, who tutors the team's outfielders, before the game. Andino has played one game in the outfield in his major league career - a six-inning stint in center for Florida last year. He never played the outfield in 693 minor league games.
