In a Spring Training game against the Baltimore Orioles, the Tigers had a 1-0 lead going into the 3rd Inning. Facing Orioles Pitcher Brad Bergesen, Damon got a high fastball and hit it off of the top of the scoreboard for a solo homer that gave the Tigers a 2-0 lead. They would score two more runs in the inning to gain a seemingly insurmountable 4-0 lead, but would end up losing the game 5-4 due a meltdown in the 6th inning.
